I doubt that we will see the same level of rioting and protests as we used to, with such draconian laws now able to effectively lock people up without charge and for extended periods without legal representation- which means anyone that the western capitalist heirarchy determines may be a threat, will disappear.



Same as used to happen to opponents of the fascistic regeimes across Europe and the South Americas in the Seventies and Eighties.



For this, we must thank the Patriot Act (parts I and II) and the Terrorism Bill. And of course, those who designed and implemented the strategy of creating a culture of fear in which such a base attack upon civil liberties could be justified.



Mr Paul Wolfowitz (principle architect of current US foreign policy and chief planner for the Iraq war), please take a bow in the limelight. Oh, sorry, you are busy in your new role as the tenth president of the Word Bank.



How ever will you manage to prosecute threee wars AND rape the continent of Africa at the same time?



Ooh! Why not start wars in Africa? wow! The US can sell as much arms to those experienced murderers currently supported by western oil, gold, mineral and diamond companies, then make it look as though they need rescuing, much like all the other countries the US has invaded unilaterally since the second world war.



In fact, it will push up oil prices too, with Nigeria in flames.



And then, if the World Bank moves forward with rolling out 'schemes' which enable the corrupt leaders of African governments, to charge their own people a fee to use the water in the rivers, it will stop people using water that is much needed for Agriculture, which will then be sold at discounted price in order to compete with the heavily subsidised US and EU markets.



And this will allow the US and Europe the subsequently pile their grain mountains even higher, whilst whole populations die from Malnutrition and disease, born of drought and starvation, exacerbated by war and the pursuit of wealth and industrialisation.



How strong will the voice of 'democracy' resound around the halls of power this year?



I bet with barely a whisper- Our comrades sacrifices over the years will be ushered out on the back of a battered hearse, in a slow parade under the chimes of Big Ben, the death knell of freedom.
